Sycamore Class
Welcome to Sycamore Class. Our teacher is called Mrs Sharkey and our learning is supported by a team of Learning Support Assistants that work across school. On Wednesday, Mrs Bevan will teach the class.
Sycamore Class is part of Key Stage 2 and we are now more independent in our learning and can concentrate for a little longer. Our class teacher continues to give us plenty of opportunity to talk and collaborate as we learn and ensures we are developing fantastic learning skills to help us as we move through Key Stage 2 and on to secondary school.
Reading continues to be a huge focus for us. We continue to work on our comprehension skills but still read at home every day. As we become even more confident at reading, we no longer read books from our reading scheme and become a free reader. This means that we can choose the books we want to read from our class library or reading nooks and really develop a love for our favourite authors and genres.
Our PE days are Wednesday and Friday. On a Wednesday the children who are in year 4 go swimming and the children in year 3 have their PE lesson in school. On PE days, we can come to school in our PE kit. If you are not sure what to wear, visit our uniform pages to find out.
The Rawdon St. Peter’s Curriculum has been written by our teachers. They have made sure our learning experiences are fun, exciting and prepare us for the next steps in our learning.
